This research explores the applicability of social contract theory in the digital realm, with a focus on Facebook and certain countries. Our research, which examines user behavior and the critical role of a digital social contract, focuses on a small number of yet representative cases from Facebook, emphasizing the platform's dedication to user safety. Our investigation, which is in line with previously published studies, highlights the continued necessity of policy adaptation, user education, and technical improvements for responsible social media dynamics. Considering the limits of our restricted approach, we propose for further study that includes a larger range of platforms and cases.
