This study entitled “The Influence of Human Resource Management Practices on Employee Burnout: Focusing on OJT Students in Parañaque City Hall” sought to determine the relationship between Human Resource Management (HRM) practices and employee burnout of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) students employed at Parañaque City Hall. This include HRM practices concerning recruitment and orientation, training and development, supervision and support, and performance evaluation, as well as employee burnout related to emotional exhaustion, mental stress, and reduced motivation. The methodology adopted for this research was quantitative descriptive research design using survey questionnaires to collect data from 100 OJT students from various courses. Frequency, percentage, and weighted mean were applied to the analysis of the obtained data. The findings revealed that respondents considered the implementation of HRM practices within Parañaque City Hall quite effective, namely regarding recruitment and orientation, supervision, and training support. Nonetheless, the results of the research showed that OJT students suffered from moderate levels of employee burnout, which mostly concerned emotional exhaustion due to increased workload. Moreover, it could be noted that most of the respondents indicated that heavy workload impacted their motivation during training adversely. The study therefore found that sound HRM practices are instrumental in preventing burnout and ensuring positive OJT training experiences among students. It is suggested that the areas of supervision, workload management, communication, and support mechanisms be strengthened to ensure a healthier work atmosphere among OJT students.
